Petula Beckles

Petula Beckles is an award-winning recording and performing artist, actor, vocal coach, and creative entrepreneur whose work moves across music, theatre, storytelling, and arts education. Known for her distinctive Gospel Jazz/Soul sound, she has received honors including Gospel Jazz Song of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year from the Independent Gospel Artists Radio Alliance Awards and Best Gospel Jazz Performance from the EnSound Music Awards.

Since 2009, Petula has coached singers, actors, developing artists, students, and choirs. She holds a certification in Vocal Science from the Contemporary Voice Teacher Academy at John Henny Vocal School, where she continues her professional development as part of its ongoing voice-teacher community. Her work as an educator and facilitator spans private coaching, public schools, arts programs, and faith communities.

Across the stage, classroom, and interactive performance space, Petula's work is connected by a fascination with voice- how we discover it, develop it, and ultimately choose to use it.
